Anxiety over today's political turmoil has everyone on edge, but not author Bruce Edwards. His fun and fanciful books for young adults promote a sunny outlook for the future. The next generation holds great potential for healing our troubled world. Helping tomorrow's leaders develop an optimistic worldview lies at the heart of these thought-provoking stories. File Bruce's books under "Relevant Fiction."
Bruce Edwards grew up in suburban San Francisco, and caught the creative energy of that city at an early age. An Architecture major in college, Bruce switched to Music to join the burgeoning Bay Area music scene. He composed and recorded his own material, while touring as a pop music artist. Tinkering with early computer animation led to a career as a feature film character animator. Bruce's notable film credits include The Iron Giant for Warner Bros. and Anastasia for 20th Century Fox. His other creative endeavors include a stint as a puppeteer and performing magic at Disneyland.
Bruce Edwards writes young-adult fiction on subjects most YA authors shy away from. His award-winning The Age of Amy series explores unconventional topics—from the trappings of modern technology to the absurdity of Washington politics. He defends the right of children to believe in Santa Claus in his holiday story An Unacceptable Christmas. Through fantasy and imagination, Bruce addresses the root causes of today's pressing issues, as young readers enjoy a fun read.
